Workout Routine
Our workout is challenging. We want you to feel AND see the results. We have built a format that is challenging but provides modifications for those who wish to work at a lower intensity. This ensures that each client gets a great workout.
Through powerful music, accurate and encouraging instruction, and a focused mind, you will achieve a long, lean, balanced barre-body!

Barre Workout Explained:
We want to work our muscles in isometric contraction to fatigue, using body weight--then stretch them back out. This builds long, lean muscles without the bulk. We work one muscle group at a time, then follow with stretches. Groups include upper body, thighs, hamstrings, seat and core.

The isometric exercises are very small, controlled, and focused movements. The body is completely still except for the muscle group working. We want to avoid using momentum but rather solely the working muscle group. This means we are not bouncing or swinging our limbs to get them to a position. The muscles will shake when performing these isometrics which is a sign of fatigue. Only upon fatigue can we gain muscles strength, tone, and increase metabolism.

Following a set of isometric exercises and stretches, it’s important to move the lactic acid from the muscles by utilizing larger movements to get the heart rate up. A brief cardio exercise follows the thigh and seat sections of each workout.

In a typical fit barre workout, you should expect to burn around 400-500 calories. We recommend attending 3-5 classes per week for optimal results, but even with 1-2 classes per week you’ll look and feel great!

We provide all props including a yoga mat, however you’re welcome to bring your own should you chose.
